Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes Manufacturer in India

MLTI Private Limited (Moonlight Tube Industries) has manufactured, supplied and exported stainless steel IBR approved pipes based in Gujarat, India, since 2008. We hold ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications with a combined capacity of 8,000 MT per year.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes Manufacturer in India

An IBR approved stainless steel pipe is an austenitic pipe made and tested under the Indian Boiler Regulations 1950 for registered boiler and steam duty, and every consignment leaves with IBR Form III-A. The Director of Boilers, Gujarat State, approved our workshop for ERW and welded pipe from 1/8 inch NB (6 mm) to 10 inch NB (250 mm) under IBR-1950 inspection. Seamless SS pipe starts as a solid billet, pierced and drawn without a joint, so no weld line runs the bore. Stainless Steel Welded pipe rolls from strip and joins along a longitudinal ERW seam, which inspectors test lot by lot. Material conforms to ASTM A312 / ASME SA-312, dimensioned to ASME B36.19M. Eleven grades carry the certification: 304, 304L, 310S, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 321, 321H, 347, 347H and 904L. Chromium runs from 16.0 to 26.0% across the range against 8.0 to 28.0% nickel; the 316 family adds 2.00 to 3.00% molybdenum, while titanium or niobium stabilises the 321 and 347 grades. SA-312 sets a minimum of 515 MPa tensile strength and 205 MPa yield strength on most grades, easing to 485 MPa and 170 MPa on 304L and 316L, while 904L sits at 490 MPa and 215 MPa.

Boilers, steam pipelines, refineries, and power plants account for the majority of our product shipments. Tensile and hardness testing runs in our approved in-house laboratory, every pipe is subjected to the nondestructive electric test or the hydrostatic test as the specification requires, and standard sizes ship from ready stock.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipe Grades

Eleven austenitic grades hold IBR certification here. Carbon level, chromium content, molybdenum and the stabilising element divide them.

01

SS 304 IBR Approved Pipes

Grade 304, UNS S30400, is the 18Cr-8Ni base of the whole range. Saturated steam and condensate headers below sensitising temperatures specify SS 304 IBR pipes.

02

SS 304L IBR Pipes

A 0.035% carbon ceiling lets 304L, UNS S30403, pass a weld cycle without carbide precipitation. Welded IBR assemblies left unannealed after fabrication call for it.

03

IBR Approved SS 310 Pipes

Furnace-adjacent boiler components take 310, UNS S31000, for its 24 to 26% chromium, which resists scaling in continuous service to about 1050°C and in intermittent service to 1035°C, well past the 304 limit.

04

316 SS IBR Pipes

Molybdenum at 2.00 to 3.00% widens the passive range of SS 316 IBR pipes against chlorides, which suits coastal boiler houses and brackish cooling circuits.

05

SS 316L IBR Approved Pipes

Grade 316L pairs that molybdenum with the low-carbon ceiling at 485 MPa minimum tensile. Chloride-bearing welded steam lines that cannot be solution annealed order UNS S31603.

06

IBR Approved SS 316Ti Pipes

Adding titanium to the molybdenum-bearing base gives 316Ti, UNS S31635, chloride resistance plus resistance to sensitisation. Jacketed steam lines carrying chloride process fluids take it.

07

IBR Approved SS 321 Pipes

Titanium at five times the combined carbon and nitrogen content, to a maximum of 0.70%, stabilises grade 321, UNS S32100, against intergranular attack between 425 and 815°C, the window refinery heater circuits occupy.

08

SS 321H IBR Approved Pipes

Carbon lifted to 0.04 to 0.10% and a coarse grain requirement give 321H, UNS S32109, its creep strength. Superheater piping held continuously hot is its duty.

09

IBR Approved SS 347 IBR Pipes

Adding niobium at ten times the carbon content stabilises Grade 347 stainless steel. Plants with frequent thermal shutdowns rely on 347 to prevent intergranular corrosion.

10

SS 347H IBR Pipes

The H variant sets niobium at eight times carbon and lifts the carbon band. SS 347H IBR pipes, UNS S34709, keep stress rupture strength in power station steam headers.

11

SS 904L IBR-make Pipes

Nickel at 23 to 28%, molybdenum at 4 to 5% and a copper addition lift 904L, UNS N08904, above the 300 series in dilute sulphuric acid service.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipe Forms and Types

Round section carries IBR certification here in the following manufacturing routes, and the governing design code settles the choice between them.

Seamless IBR Approved Pipes Seamless
01

Seamless IBR Approved Pipes

Seamless IBR approved pipes are made from a solid billet without a longitudinal weld, giving uniform circumferential strength and a clean bore. They are used in boiler headers, superheater lines and other high-pressure services where weld-free construction is preferred.

IBR Approved SS Welded Pipes (ERW) Welded / ERW
02

IBR Approved SS Welded Pipes (ERW)

Welded and ERW SS pipes are IBR approved, formed from rolled strip with longitudinal seams, A312-compliant welding, prescribed inspection, and eddy-current tested across the full IBR size range.

IBR Approved SS Round Pipes Round
03

IBR Approved SS Round Pipes

Round pipe is the standard pressure-containing form for IBR service, offering uniform circumferential strength and efficient flow. Boiler headers, steam lines and critical connections use IBR approved SS round pipes.

IBR Approved SS Rectangular Pipes Rectangular
04

IBR Approved SS Rectangular Pipes

Rectangular IBR approved stainless steel pipes are used in structural and fabrication work where a flat-sided profile is needed. Available in selected sizes and grades, they provide dimensional control, certified material traceability and inspection suited to the specified service.

IBR Approved SS Square Pipes Square
05

IBR Approved SS Square Pipes

Square IBR approved stainless steel pipes are used where equal-sided sections and clean alignment are required in fabrication and support work. Manufactured under IBR-approved conditions, they offer consistent dimensions, certified traceability and inspection as required by the specification.

Industrial Applications of IBR Approved Stainless Steel Pipes

Five sectors account for most IBR demand, and each specifies certified pipe where statute or a licensor code requires it.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes for Boilers and Power Plants
01

Boilers and Power Plants

Boiler banks, downcomers and steam headers registered under the regulations are built from certified material only. IBR boiler pipes in 321H and 347H hold creep strength at superheater temperatures.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes for Refineries and Petrochemical Plants
02

Refineries and Petrochemical Plants

Process heaters, stripping columns and utility steam rings run hot enough to sensitise an unstabilised grade. Stabilised 321 and 347 resist intergranular corrosion across refinery IBR lines.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes for Steam Distribution Pipelines
03

Steam Distribution Pipelines

Live steam mains falling within the regulations' scope are laid in certified pipe. IBR steam pipes in grade 304 serve most saturated steam distribution duties.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes for Chemical and Fertiliser Plants
04

Chemical and Fertiliser Plants

Reboilers, jacketed reactors and process steam services combine pressure with corrosive carryover. Chemical and fertiliser plants specify 316L IBR pressure pipes where chlorides or acidic condensate attack plain grades.

Stainless Steel IBR Approved Pipes for Sugar and Distillery Plants
05

Sugar and Distillery Plants

Bagasse-fired boilers and evaporator steam systems carry a crushing season on certified pipe. Grades 304 and 316 handle hot, mildly acidic vapour where carbon steel would scale.

IBR Form III-A Certification and Documentation

Every IBR certified stainless steel pipe we despatch travels with IBR approval certification Form III-A, the certificate that the Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950 prescribe for steam pipes under Regulation 4(e). The Inspecting Authority countersigns it once the witnessed tests are closed out. An EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate accompanies it, recording heat chemistry and mechanical results. Buyers sometimes ask for Form III-C against a pipe order, though Regulation 269 assigns that form to boiler mountings and fittings, and Form III-B covers tubes. Our Gujarat facility holds approval from the Director of Boilers, Gujarat State under IBR-1950 inspection, so site documentation reaches the boiler inspector complete.

Testing and Inspection of IBR Approved Stainless Steel Pipes

Each lot of IBR approved pipes passes chemical analysis, tensile and flattening tests, with a transverse-guided face bend test available in place of flattening on welded pipe, together with hardness testing in our laboratory. Grain size determination to Test Methods E112 is carried out on the H grades, 321H and 347H, which the specification requires to be grain size 7 or coarser.

SS IBR Pipes FAQs

An IBR approved stainless steel pipe is an austenitic pipe manufactured, tested and inspected under the Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950, then supplied on Form III-A for registered boiler and steam service in India.

Statute separates the two, not metallurgy. An Inspecting Authority recognised by the Central Boilers Board witnesses IBR pipe and countersigns Form III-A, while non-IBR pipe of the same grade carries a mill certificate alone.

Form III-A, the statutory certificate for steam pipes under Regulation 4(e) of the Indian Boiler Regulations, 1950. A 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204 covering chemistry and mechanical results travels alongside it.

ASTM A312 / ASME SA-312 covers seamless, welded and heavily cold worked austenitic stainless steel pipe, dimensioned to ASME B36.19M. We supply the welded and ERW routes under IBR approval.

IBR approved stainless steel pipes run from 1/8 inch to 10 inch NB in SCH 5S through 80S, in random and cut lengths, with standard sizes held in stock.

Grades 304, 304L, 310S, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 321, 321H, 347, 347H and 904L ship as IBR approved pipes, all certified to ASTM A312 / ASME SA-312.

No. Regulation 269 assigns Form III-C to boiler mountings and fittings. Steam pipes certify on Form III-A, and tubes certify on Form III-B.
