Hastelloy Condenser Tubes Manufacturer in India

MLTI Private Limited (Moonlight Tube Industries) is a trusted ISO 14001 and 45001-certified Hastelloy condenser tube manufacturer, supplier and exporter from Gujarat, India, for duty where vapour condenses against the tube wall. Condensing service settles material choice on one point: the aggressive species is not carried in by the bulk stream; it forms on the metal as the vapour turns to liquid. Hastelloy C276, designated UNS N10276 and W.Nr. 2.4819, is the grade we hold against that condition. Seamless nickel alloy condenser tubes are certified to ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622, and welded tubes to ASTM B626 / ASME SB-626, whose scope names condenser tubes directly.

Nickel forms the balance against 15.0 to 17.0% molybdenum, 14.5 to 16.5% chromium and 3.0 to 4.5% tungsten, with carbon restricted to 0.010% maximum and phosphorus restricted to 0.04% maximum. Both routes certify a minimum tensile strength of 690 MPa, a minimum yield strength of 283 MPa at 0.2% offset and minimum elongation of 40% after solution annealing. Diameters run from 12.7 mm to 101.6 mm on six standard wire gauge walls between 1.016 mm and 3.251 mm, with tube certified to 88.9 mm and the 101.6 mm size supplied as pipe. Overhead, vent and reflux condensers on chlorinated vapour account for most of what we dispatch, alongside chlorine handling trains and incinerator quench duty. Selected sizes are held, and the balance is procured against firm orders. Grade is confirmed by positive material identification; each lot is dimensionally inspected, and release follows an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate.

Grade We Supply For Hastelloy Condenser Tubes

We at MLTI provide only one grade, that is Hastelloy C276. It is preferred in high-performance industries that require excellent chemical resistance and are suitable for chloride-contaminated solutions.

01

Hastelloy C276 Tubes

Hastelloy C-276 is the primary grade supplied for condenser tubes, offering exceptional resistance to localised pitting and stress corrosion cracking. This nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy remains stable during welding, ensuring reliability in severe and variable chemical processing environments.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes Types and Forms

Hastelloy condenser tubes are available in seamless, welded, straight-length, and U-bend forms. We supply C276 in all of them, and the form is selected according to condenser design, tubesheet arrangement and the pressure rating required.

Seamless Hastelloy Condenser Tubes Seamless
01

Seamless Hastelloy Condenser Tubes

Seamless Hastelloy condenser tubes are manufactured without a longitudinal weld and are supplied solution annealed and descaled. ASTM B622 covers applicable Hastelloy nickel-alloy tube grades, including C-276, subject to specified size limits.

Welded Hastelloy Condenser Tubes Welded
02

Welded Hastelloy Condenser Tubes

Welded Hastelloy condenser tubes are formed from flat-rolled alloy and automatically welded without filler metal. ASTM B626 specifically covers welded nickel-alloy tubes for condenser and heat-exchanger service, including C-276.

Straight-Length Hastelloy Condenser Tubes Straight
03

Straight-Length Hastelloy Condenser Tubes

Straight length tubes serve as the primary configuration for shell and tube heat exchangers. These tubes hold close diameter and ovality tolerances so the tube ends expand cleanly into the tubesheet, and the straight run minimises flow resistance and localised erosion in highly corrosive service.

Hastelloy U-Bend Tube U-Bend
04

Hastelloy U-Bend Tube

U-bend Hastelloy tubes are supplied when the enquiry specifies bend radius and leg length. They suit condenser bundle layouts, while straight tubes remain the standard for rolled tubesheet joints in surface condenser service.

Hastelloy Condenser Tube Sizes

Eleven diameters make up the range. Both ASTM B626 and ASTM B622 limit tube to 88.9 mm outside diameter, so the top size in the table is supplied as pipe rather than tube. Diameter, wall band and the routes open to each size are set out in the table below.

Nominal SizeOutside Diameter (mm)Wall Band (mm)
1/2"12.71.016 to 3.251
5/8"15.8751.016 to 3.251
3/4"19.051.016 to 3.251
1"25.41.016 to 3.251
1 1/4"31.751.016 to 3.251

2"50.81.016 to 3.251
2 1/2"63.51.016 to 3.251
3"76.21.016 to 3.251
3 1/2"88.91.016 to 3.251
4"101.61.016 to 3.251

Wall is ordered by gauge number rather than decimal thickness. The millimetre equivalent of each gauge is given in the second table below.

SWG GaugeWall Thickness (mm)
10 SWG3.251
12 SWG2.642
14 SWG2.032
16 SWG1.626
18 SWG1.219
19 SWG1.016

Condenser tube is conventionally called out in Birmingham Wire Gauge, and such a list needs converting before pricing. BWG and SWG are separate systems, so a 20 BWG entry does not land on a 20 SWG wall. We ask for the wall in millimetres and confirm the nearest gauge against it. Every gauge above sits inside the 3.7 mm wall ceiling that ASTM B626 sets. Hastelloy tubing below 12.7 mm falls outside our range.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes Industrial Applications

Five sectors use the condensing duty we supply into. Each one produces its corrosive at the dewpoint rather than upstream of it.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes for Chlor-Alkali and Chlorine Handling
01

Chlor-Alkali and Chlorine Handling

Chlorine leaving a cell room is saturated with moisture, and dry chlorine is benign where wet chlorine is not. Cooling and drying condensers drop that moisture out as an acidic film. Hypochlorite circuits on the same plant present the oxidising counterpart.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes for Oil Refining and Acid Recovery
02

Oil Refining and Acid Recovery

Crude and vacuum overhead condensers see hydrochloric acid formed when residual chloride salts hydrolyse in the furnace. The first droplets at the water dewpoint are dilute acid at very low pH, the most damaging concentration the tube will meet. Alloy C-276 condenser tubes hold that zone.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes for Fertiliser Production and Ammonia Refrigeration
03

Fertiliser Production and Ammonia Refrigeration

Ammonia chiller condensers and process gas coolers on fertiliser plant run at larger bore than typical exchanger tubes. Ammonium chloride deposition and the alkaline condensate following a shutdown wash sit outside what austenitic stainless tolerates.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes for Pulp and Paper Bleach Plant
04

Pulp and Paper Bleach Plant

Chlorine dioxide generators vent a wet, strongly oxidising gas that has to be condensed and scrubbed before it leaves the plant. Generator and vent condensers in the D stage take Hastelloy tubing, since chlorine dioxide and residual chloride reach the surface together.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes for Waste Incineration and Flue-Gas Cleaning
05

Waste Incineration and Flue-Gas Cleaning

Quench condensers, scrubber vent coolers and reheat surfaces downstream of an absorber operate below the acid dewpoint by design. Condensate collecting there is dilute hydrochloric and sulphuric acid loaded with chloride, and Hastelloy surface condenser tubes serve the cold rows.

Shipping and Packaging for Hastelloy Condenser Tubes

Our specialised packaging and shipping protocols ensure structural protection and flexible logistics management for high-value Hastelloy Condenser Tubes.

  • Tube is bundled by diameter and gauge, strapped over timber battens, and fitted with end caps.
  • Thin gauges travel in closed wooden cases, since ovality picked up in transit scraps a tube.
  • Each bundle tag states grade, specification, heat number, diameter, wall, and length.
  • Export consignments move FOB or CFR to Brazil, Turkey, Vietnam and Europe.

Hastelloy Condenser Tubes FAQs

Hastelloy C276, designated UNS N10276, is the grade we supply in condenser tube form. It is the alloy called for where wet chlorine, hypochlorite or acid condensate reaches the tube surface.

ASTM B622 / ASME SB-622 applies to seamless Hastelloy condenser tubes and ASTM B626 / ASME SB-626 to welded tube, with B626 naming condenser tubes in its scope. General requirements follow ASTM B829 for seamless and ASTM B751 for welded product.

Yes. Both routes are supplied. Welded tube to SB‑626 usually priced below seamless at equal gauge, and both SB‑626 and SB‑622 limit tube to 88.9 mm outside diameter. At 101.6 mm the size sits outside the tube scope of both, and we supply it as seamless pipe to SB‑622 at NPS 3 1/2, whose outside diameter is 101.6 mm

Hastelloy condenser tubes are available from 12.7 mm to 101.6 mm outside diameter, on walls of 1.016 mm to 3.251 mm. Tube is certified to B622 or B626 up to 88.9 mm, and the 101.6 mm size is supplied as B622 pipe at NPS 3 1/2. Those walls correspond to 19 SWG through 10 SWG. Diameters under 12.7 mm are outside the range.

Yes. U-bends are supplied to a stated bend radius and leg length where an enquiry carries them. Surface condenser bundles are normally straight tubes rolled into a tubesheet at both ends, so a U-bend request usually sits on a Hastelloy heat exchanger tube drawing instead.

Every tube is tested by either a hydrostatic test or a non-destructive electric test in accordance with ASME SB-622, and each lot is released against an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating the heat number, supported by the raw-material certificate, our positive material identification report and dimensional inspection records.
