MLTI Private Limited (Moonlight Tube Industries) is a 316 stainless steel pipe manufacturer, supplier and exporter based in Gujarat since 2008, with an annual capacity of nearly 8,000 MT. We produce this 316 steel pipe to ASTM A312 / ASME SA-312 in grade TP316, registered as UNS S31600.
Molybdenum at 2.00 to 3.00% separates type 316 stainless steel pipe from the plain 18/8 grades because a 316 stainless pipe resists chloride pitting where a chromium-nickel film alone gives way. Around it sit 16.0 to 18.0% chromium and 10.0 to 14.0% nickel. Carbon is capped at 0.08%. SA-312 is certified to have a minimum of 515 MPa tensile strength, 205 MPa yield strength and 35% elongation.
Our rolling programme for 316 SS pipe covers 1/8" NB through 10" NB in SCH 5S, 10S, 20S, 40S and 80S, dimensioned to ASME B36.19, in lengths reaching 24 ft. Our production includes 316 stainless steel seamless pipes, which are pierced from solid billets to carry extreme pressure without seams, and 316 stainless steel welded pipes, which are roll-formed from flat strips and seam-fused, including high-frequency ERW lines forged under electrical pressure without filler metal, a process this mill was built around. As a 316 stainless steel pipe manufacturer, we supply to the chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, sugar and oil & gas industries. Every length leaves solution annealed at 1040°C minimum and hydrostatically tested to A999/A999M, on an EN 10204 3.1 certificate. We hold ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications with BIS, EIL, IBR and PED 2014/68/EU approvals.

Molybdenum works on the passive film. Chloride ions attack that film at weak points and start a pit; molybdenum stabilises it and repairs the breakdown. Calculated from the SA-312 limits, the pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN = %Cr + 3.3 × %Mo) runs between about 23 and 28. SA-312 sets no nitrogen requirement for S31600, so the nitrogen term drops out.

Wall thickness doesn't reduce the certified minima, so SCH 5S and SCH 80S both answer to 515 MPa.

2 construction processes reach the same SS 316 chemistry. The choice turns on bore, wall and pressure duty, not the alloy. We also provide 3 section profiles, namely round, square, and rectangular.
316 stainless steel seamless pipe begins as a solid billet, pierced over a mandrel and drawn to size. Nothing runs along its length to open under cyclic pressure, so seamless is specified where cyclic pressure duty governs.
Welded 316 pipe is formed from gauged strip and fused using electric resistance welding (ERW) without filler metal. This efficient forging process delivers excellent wall consistency, making it our highest tonnage route and highly cost-effective past four inches.
Round 316 pipe is the standard circular section used for pressure and fluid service. Its uniform profile supports efficient flow, straightforward joining, and compatibility with conventional piping components across industrial applications.
Square
Square 316 pipe has four equal sides and is mainly selected for structural and fabrication applications. Its flat surfaces simplify connections, supports, frames, and assemblies where consistent geometry and corrosion resistance are required.
Rectangular
Rectangular 316 pipe has unequal side dimensions, providing greater flexibility for structural layouts and fabricated assemblies. It suits applications requiring flat faces, controlled section dimensions, and stainless steel corrosion resistance.

Schedule fixes wall, not bore, 316 SS pipe dimensions shift with both. The same number thickens as NB climbs: SCH 40S measures 2.77 mm at 1/2 inch against 8.18 mm at 8 inches. B36.19 defines no SCH 5S wall at 3/8" NB.
Stock runs in 3 m and 6 m, with 20 ft for imperial orders. Cutting happens in house, and we'll hold any length to 24 ft.

6 sectors take most of what leaves the mill, each for a reason traceable to molybdenum.
Ballast lines, seawater cooling circuits and deck piping run in 316 because chloride would pit an unalloyed austenitic within a season. Stagnant seawater still demands care, so we specify against the flow condition.
Reactor feed headers and acid dosing runs carry sulphuric, phosphoric and acetic media, and molybdenum widens the passive range into reducing conditions that leave grade 304 exposed.
Utility piping and produced-water runs on platforms use 316 wherever the service stays sweet. Sour duty moves to another alloy.
Purified water loops and clean steam lines take 316 pipe on contact duty. A pickled surface holds no residue. Caustic sanitising cycles leave the passive film intact.
Reverse osmosis skids and brine rejection lines combine chloride load with continuous wetting, and grade 316 handles the reject stream on the low-pressure side.
Juice handling, evaporator and syrup lines carry hot, mildly acidic media, and molybdenum holds the passive film where thermal cycling and cleaning cycles work against it.
